As you may or may not know, Corey is playing goalie for the Arizona Heat Mites travel hockey team this year. We will periodically be having fund-raisers -- most of them likely will only be local -- and this is the first one. Corey is collecting pledges as part of the ARIZONA HEAT HOCKEY READ-A-THON.
You can pledge a certain amount per book read from today until the end of August, as well as designate a maximum bid (if you know Corey, he'll probably read 25-30 books in the next five weeks). We hope to have the money collected by Sept. 1. The Arizona Heat is a non-profit organization made up of several youth hockey teams. The funds raised during this event will support the team with expenses such as tournament entry fees, ice time, additional training and travel costs.

Corey and the North Stars knocked off the top-seeded team in the Mites city championship game, 4-2, today! After saving 18 of 21 shots while winning their semifinal game Tuesday night, Corey only had to face 10 shots today, saving eight of them. They will play for the East Valley title vs. the Chander champion on Aug. 14.
