Long Day

After hockey practice on Saturday, we got Corey some goalie equipment through Polar Ice for dirt cheap. Sunday he went to Goalie Day! There were about a dozen goalies of all ages. He the youngest and never had worn the pads before, but did great and he had a blast. They were on the ice for three hours!

After Goalie Day, Corey and I went to the Diamondbacks games. We left during the 7th inning stretch -- doing the "Park and Ride" for the lightrail -- and still made it home in time to watch the 11th, 12th, 13th innings! We spent the rest of the day swimming in the pool, playing in the backyard and hanging out with Carrie's college roommate Laura!

Busy Week!

OK, so we had baseball last Tuesday night, and Corey had an MRI on Wednesday (we haven't heard any results yet, but he didn't want the "gas" nor the "freeze spray" ... only the IV for anesthesia!).

Thursday, Brody and I cleaned out the garage to get ready for the neighborhood garage sale -- he fell asleep while driving around shortly thereafter -- and we had another baseball game (Corey got to play catcher).

On Friday, it was the Mini-Relay for Life at Corey's school (here he is posing when Brody wouldn't join him), and then Bobo and I went to a park. Enjoy!

Brody HATES Poopypants

I need to do an update with photos and videos from our crazy week last week, but here's a quick story about Brody to tide you over ...

After we cleaned his room this morning and had lunch, I got Brody down for his nap. Shortly thereafter I found him walking around the house.

Apparently he ... took off his diaper, got out his lotion and wipes, used the lotion and wipes and then put his shorts back on! I found the diaper, wipes, and lotion on the floor in his room. Good grief!

Easter Photos

(See Carrie's text entry below!)

Easter Recap

If our blog entries have been brief lately (and comments indicate they may have been perceived as brief!), it may be because we've been very busy! And most of the updates have been by Rob, which means they've been heavy with pictures and light on commentary.

For one, I've been occupied with a blanket I'm making for Ms. Molly. As you have likely noticed on the right hand column, my sister's family has a new addition, and of course, I must come up with some way to knit/crochet something. That is in progress.

For another, we have baseball two nights a week, which always ends up taking more time than we expect. Brody insists on leaving from the moment we arrive, and we've come to appreciate our Mommy/Brody time every Tuesday/Thursday evening, complete with books, songs and cuddling.

Our weekends have been busy as well! We went to a friend's house on Saturday night and we colored Easter eggs twice over the weekend.

And then Rob has a new job. It doesn't pay (at all), but Brody is very much enjoying his time with Mr. Mom. Rob has gotten a lot of time at the library, and of course spends time looking for a better paying job, cleaning house and running errands.

Corey has an MRI Wednesday and our friend Nancy has graciously agreed to watch Brody while I'm at work and Rob supervises the MRI.

That is all for now. I've procrastinated taxes as much as possible.....

Corey Loves Stories

We do a lot of updates about Corey's sports prowess, but he also LOVES reading. He's been reading the "My Weird School" books lately. He started "Miss Suki is Kooky!" last night and read the final 10 chapters today after school. He also was "helping" Carrie go through some jewelry Sunday night, even trying some on!

Happy Monday!

You gotta love Brody's laugh! :-)

Weekly Photo Update

In the spirit of trying to update the blog, here are some photos from the week: Corey and Brody eating cheese (Brody really misses Corey during the week and can't get enough of him during the weekend), Brody eating -- of course! -- breakfast, Corey and I playing "soft toss" (it's not as easy as you'd think to throw the ball to Corey AND take a picture at the same time) and Corey from the Coyotes game on Monday night (the last time we saw the Stars it was a 1-0 shootout thriller and this time the Yotes won 6-5 in OT).
