First Day of School, Part II

Last week was Corey's first day of second grade, and today was Brody's turn! Bobo started preschool, going for three hours a day twice a week. We did his homework last night (he had to find some of his favorite things to show the class) and I dropped him off after we dropped off Corey. Brody seemed to be doing great ... until I started to leave, then he got a little weepy so we'll see how he does. Another update in a couple of hours after school!

UPDATED: Brody had a good day! He said his favorite part was going down the slide, and he played with "the boys and girls." Also, as soon as we got in the car, he asked me, "Can I take this (name tag) off because we're not in school any more." Here is his first art project (you can click on it to read the poem):

Bobo's Preschool

Just a quick note to share with everyone Brody's new preschool. Carrie visited Friday, and Brody and I checked it out today. They have an open house tomorrow, and then his class starts on Thursday (he's going twice a week for 3 hours a day). Check it out: http://www.ladybuglearningclub.com/

More Mites

OK, the photo is from the Dbacks game we went to Monday, but the update is about the Mites. Corey improved to 3-0 as starting goalie for the Sabers (aka "The Black Team") in an exciting game today! Both goalies were great! The game was tied 4-4 late, when the Sabers scored a late goal to pull out the victory. Corey made 18 saves, his coach said he was the first star of the game and all his teammates mobbed him afterward. It was pretty cool!

First Day of School!

Here are the boys before we dropped Corey off at school for his first day of SECOND GRADE! We actually did the drive-through drop-off because the parking lot was full. Then it occurred to me WHY the lot was full: everybody was making sure their kids got to the right place! So Bobo and I drove around, found a place to park and went looking for Corey. Turns out, not only did he find where he was supposed to line up (his backpack was first), but also he had already managed to get together with friends/fellow hockey players Andrew and Chandler. I had nothing to worry about. Hope the rest of his day goes as smoothly!

Best. Game. Ever.

Corey did awesome today with the Mites! After having a 5-0 shutout in the first period, they switched sides so Corey was facing his own team for the next two periods ... which he promptly held to one goal. For the game, he saved 15 of 16 shots, and only allowed one of the nine goals! Pretty impressive! P.S. Carrie was at a Kappa event this morning, so Bobo and I were wacthing Corey from the extra goals. P.P.S. Here's a photo of Carrie and the boys from earlier this week as well.

First Official Mites Start

Corey was officially the starting goalie for the black Mites team for the first time today, playing the whole game and saving 10 of 13 shots for a 10-3 victory. He was particularly pleased with his two "kick" saves. He also scored six goals in the Mini Mites game -- his coach told him he has to pass more next time -- after the team photo.
