Visit to the Zoo (Belated)

Corey, Brody and I celebrated the first day of summer vacation last Friday with a trip to the Phoenix Zoo. Here are photos of the new jaguar, a maned wolf, flamingos and the zebras. Of course, Corey also rode on the merry-go-round while Brody and I watched.

Corey Makes Mites Debut

After playing goalie for only the second time at his Mini Mites practice this morning, Corey was "called up" to play goalie during the Mites game! They actually have two teams, use the scoreboard and play three 15-minute periods ... even make line changes. Well, considering he's probably at least a year or two younger than the rest of the players, he did pretty well. I think he saved 18 of 26 shots (while the Mites' "starting goalie" probably saved about 9 of 14 shots). Corey definitely looked pretty good out there, and the Mites coaches want him to come back and play some more! Oh yeah ... he also lost another tooth today and got new shoes this week! ;-)

Happy Mother's Day!

We went swimming Friday afternoon and again yesterday with the Evahnekos -- I played in a golfing event with Jason in between -- so today we're keeping a low profile against the triple-digit temperatures. Corey and I made Carrie blueberry muffins this morning, and we did go outside long enough for a Costco trip and In-n-Out for Mother's Day lunch!
